A beautiful blend of early The Chicks and 1970’s West Coast folk rock à la Fleetwood Mac, The Mama’s & The Papa’s and Joni Mitchell – “Gypsy Girl” was recorded at Ziggy Tone Studios in Melbourne under the guidance of Damian Cafarella (The Pleasures, Henry Wagons, Lachlan Bryan & The Wildes). While some may say that in itself is a left field choice, it was one that immediately struck the right balance in capturing not only the pure essence of the song but one that has reignited the girls’ fire for their music. Cafarella produced and mixed the track and played all guitars, mandolin, dobro and sang backing vocals. The gorgeous instrumentation is fleshed out by Luke Moller (Dolly Parton, Lana Del Rey) on fiddle and Michael Carpenter (Michael Carpenter & The Banks Brothers) on upright bass.. Read more.
