Albums Of The Week: Rollerball | Submarine Reissue

The menacing nautical theme that runs through the album was a dream-like melding of guitar and bass enhanced by the use of an early ’80s Roland Juno-60 synthesiser. Drummer Cam Roach dug deep into his percussive repertoire, creating layered tribal beats that included the use of vocal percussive techniques, while friend and session musician Luke Moller added fiddle to top off the sea-shanty Your Lullaby. Submarine was originally released on CD by Plus1 Records and featured artwork by Alex Von Wieding. The original release concluded with an epic 16-minute jam titled Never A Rodeo, which is not on the vinyl reissue, but is included as a digital download. Read more.
